| Tilsner and REE Meeting of 3/29/06
Minutes Of The Tilsner Liaison Meeting of 3/29/06
Present:
Kim Bowman, Tilsner Office Manager
Michael Silbernagel, Real Estate Equities
Deneen Gannon, Tilsner Management and Legal Documents Committee Chair
1. We reviewed the To-Do List from the last meeting.
2. Kim said that the pipes upgrade project had been completed. The fifth floor water loop has been replaced, and Thermal technologies has completely flushed the entire system. However, more work remains in regards to the Tilsner pipe system. For example, the air handlers on the roof need to be fixed. Also some of the insulation will need to be replaced on some of the pipes.
3. Deneen has not had any volunteers from the Tilsner on testing the available tub and sink screens. Therefore Deneen is going to bring these to the next Board meeting, hand them out to the present members, and ask them to provide her with feedback.
4. Kim is still waiting to hear back from TCHDC on whether or not they will replace our existing washer and dryers with new models that have card scanners. Mike said he would assist Kim by contacting TCHDC on the status of this issue.
5. We discussed the rent credit decision that was recently made by the Management and Legal documents committee. We are also waiting for a response back from TCHDC. Deneen will contact Jane from TCHDC again, asking for an update. The rent credit decision was reviewed with Kim and Mike at this meeting.
6. We discussed the issue of recertification forms. We are going to look into whether or not it would be cost effective to have the forms mailed to residents, instead of sliding the forms under resident doors. Mailing the forms would eliminate residents “not getting the forms,” which is complaint voiced by some residents.
7. We discussed the Tilsner transfer policy. Recently a resident expressed concern that a new tenant was allowed to transfer to another Tilsner unit. This resident thought that a household must live in the Tilsner for one year, before transferring. Kim read through the Transfer policy, and found out that this is not true. You can transfer before one year, however you have to recertify and requalify. Residents who transfer after one year do not need to recertify or requalify.
To-Do’s:
1. Deneen: Try to find some pilot folks for the tub/sink screens.
2. TCHDC/Mike: Continue the work on bringing in new washer/dryers for the Tilsner.
3. TCHDC/Kim: Fix air handlers on the roof, and replace some of the pipe insulation.
4. Deneen/Kim: Consider issue of mailing recertification forms to residents.
