---At this meeting we discussed upcoming changes to the Selections process. In recent years the IRS has been paying more attention to general public use buildings such as the Tilsner. Due to this heightened attention, Artspace has recommended that we put certain measures into place to protect the Tilsner and our Tilsner residents.
---The new measures being recommended include changes to the current Tilsner selections process, which would include potentially letting non-artists live in the building. The pros and cons of doing this were discussed extensively with the group. Artspace has already put this type of selections process in place at some other Artspace-owned properties.
---We discussed what changes we would have to make to the existing Tilsner selections process to allow for non-artists to potentially live in the building. We decided that we would have to come up with a new selections questionnaire in order to facilitate these changes.
---At the end of the meeting, everyone was in agreement that we would make the selections changes as recommended by Artspace. This means that non-artists now potentially have the chance to live in our building. We are scheduling another meeting which will be on Wednesday August 1, to finalize the changes to the selections questionnaire that we will need to use going forward.
