Saint Paul Art Crawl on October 8th and 9th!
E-mail this | Print this

Come and celebrate the St. Paul Crawl in downtown & Lowertown with the resident and guest artists who have made this grassroots event into such a success. The St. Paul Art Crawl is a self-guided tour of almost 200 artists' studios in 20 buildings in the downtown neighborhoods.

This season, the St. Paul Art Crawl is pleased to join with the Minnesota Crafts Council to create a “weekend of art in St. Paul.” With the Art Crawl in downtown St. Paul on Friday and Saturday, and the Craft Council show at State Fair on Saturday and Sunday, art patrons will have a chance to see a wide variety of arts and crafts – all styles, media, and techniques.

Showing an all-inclusive collection of a variety of art, a “banquet selection” of fine arts, crafts, music and performance; with photography, printmaking, textile arts, painting, bookbinding, pottery, sculpture, jewelry, computer arts and more, the St. Paul Art Crawl offers something for everyone. Performances are always a part of the Crawl, with impromptu & scheduled events that add excitement and variety to each Crawl. Various art organizations, galleries, arts groups, theaters, local restaurants and coffeehouses will also be open for visitors.

Meet & Support Your Local Artists & Small Businesses!

The Art Crawl is a unique opportunity for the public to gain access to art at it’s source - visitors are able to meet the artists and have direct interaction, learning about new techniques and styles, finding that perfect something for their home or office. Families with children are always welcome, with family activities at various studios.

The Art Crawl is free, and open to all. There is free shuttle transportation to carry visitors to the various buildings. Disability access is available in most buildings.

The residents of the area have built a thriving, dynamic community in Lowertown, which has expanded into downtown St. Paul. Over the last 20 years, they have poured blood, sweat and love into the old warehouses of the historic districts of St. Paul and made the neighborhoods into a unique artists’ community, unparalleled in the Twin Cities, and in the Midwest. The residents hope that everyone takes this opportunity to visit and  tour their neighborhoods and the rest of the buildings in downtown, and experience the “hidden” vitality of St. Paul.
