So, the Republican Party are having their convention in St. Paul, MN, although with 50,000 people in town for the event (before protesters) Minneapolis is going to be full of people as well. This page will contain an ongoing diary of brief notes about what is going on in the city, blog postings, and photos. My band, Pocket of Resistance, is opening up the Lowertown Block Party in St. Paul on Sunday, August 31st, so we're about to be tossed right into the middle of the circus. (Added: Aug 30, 2008) 
Tilsner Artists' Cooperative T-Shirts!
For the Spring 2005 Saint Paul Art Crawl, a limited edition series of Tilsner Artists' Cooperative T-Shirts, sporting a white design on black T-shirts. A reverse option with a black design on white T-Shirts was also available. The illustration of the Tilsner building was created by "Texas" Teena Roberson from a photograph by Nigel Parry and T-Shirt production was carried out in-house. (Added: Apr 22, 2005)

As Halloween approached, I called a friend in the Tilsner who holds the best Halloween party in town, and asked him if I could set up a portrait studio in a spare room and photograph the guests in costume. The idea was to get a clean digital shot of the costumes against a plain background, perhaps get some of the characters to interact, and see what happened. (Added: Nov 3, 2003)

Two co-founders of Middle East alternative news websites Electronic Iraq and Electronic Intifada, Ali Abunimah and Nigel Parry, were at the 20th National Convention of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee in Washington DC on 14 June 2003 to accept the ADC's Voices of Peace Award on behalf of the founders of EI and sister site eIraq. The award was presented to eIraq and EI "in recognition of its commitment to bringing the concerns, voices, and experiences of the Iraqi and Palestinian peoples to audiences the world over via the Internet."
