Committee Information

Committees are listed below in alphabetical order. Where committees have subsites on Tilsner.net offering more information, committee titles appear below as links.


Conciliation Committee
Responsibilities
1. To facilitate disputes between members.
2. To maintain an orderly system of handling grievances between members.
3. To work with the Management to implement resolutions between Tilsner Cooperative members.
4. To consult with the Tilsner Board and Management over lease renewal matters.
5. To create policies regarding any conciliation topics.


Construction Committee
Responsibilities
1. To oversee the Canoe Room area and the Storage area.
2. To set policy with Tilsner Board and oversee the “Free Pile” project.
3. To create policies regarding construction issues at the Tilsner.
4. To work with Tilsner committees for any proposed construction projects.


Finance Committee
Responsibilities
1. To draft the annual budget for the Tilsner.
2. To make recommendations for Cooperative expenditures..
3. To work with committees to allocate funds.
4. To meet with Management to review yearly rental costs.
5. To meet with Ownership and review budget decisions.


Gallery Committee
Responsibilities
1. To showcase Tilsner Artist members and garner attention to the Co-op as a whole.


Gardening Committee
Responsibilities
1. To assist with designing, planting, and maintaining the park and gardens around the Tilsner.
2. To work with other community gardening organizations on the park and gardens around the Tilsner.
3. To work with the Finance Committee on funding for park or gardening projects.


Management/Legal Documents Committee
Responsibilities
1. To review and oversee Management issues for the Tilsner.
2. To bring member questions and concerns to the Management Agent.
3. To review the performance of the Management Agent, the Onsite Manager, and Caretakers.
4. To create policies regarding Management issues at the Tilsner.
5. To create and maintain the Tilsner Member Handbook.
6. To maintain all the legal documents for the Tilsner.


Outreach Committee
1. To plan and coordinate Tilsner participation in St. Paul Art Crawl.
2. To plan, coordinate or assist with any special events that involve the Tilsner.
3. To create policies regarding use of space and hallway walls, social activities and other related activities.


Selection Committee
Responsibilities
1. To create policy regarding Selection issues for the Tilsner,
2. To coordinate interview process for potential new members to the Tilsner.
3. To meet with new members and welcome them to the Tilsner family.
4. To coordinate special events for the general Tilsner family.
5. To acquaint new members with important Tilsner information, such as events, committee sign-ups, etc.
6. To acquaint new members with the community around the Tilsner and St. Paul in general.


Website Committee
Responsibilities
1. To work as liaison with current Tilsner.net website handler for updates.
2. To coordinate a member friendly home page within current news updates.
3. To work with Tilsner members on establishing individual artist website links to the Tilsner site.
4. To work with Management to promote Studio spaces at the Tilsner.
